So Many Books… So Little Time!

by Lisa T. Bergren

Rating: 5 out of 5.

“My eyes shifted to the trickling river. Come spring, it would be ten times as wide and just as deep. On and on it went, rushing toward the distant horizon. Like time. Like life. Sometimes gently falling from one pool into the other, other times fast and cascading, and still other times narrowing into a funnel, a torrent of knots and waves.”

Welcome back for day three of my favorite series! By the time you reach the third book, you may have lost the ability to speak from lack of use and your eyes may feel painful when you are again under the sun because you have been unable to stop reading!

Now you may be thinking, ok… this may be a good book, but it can’t be as good as she says. In college, I gave this series out (as a loan of course) to a ton of girls. Even the girls who claimed not to enjoy reading, I would find lounging on a couch in the lobby of our dorm, enraptured. When I asked them how it was going, their answers were short and to the point – “so good, but I’m trying to read!”

It was actually with this series that I began to love influencing people with my joy of reading. I realized that it’s not possible for people not to enjoy reading, it’s simply, they haven’t found a book they love. It was the first of many that I recommended to my dear friend, @ariannaseigel and has made her a faithful reader of christian fiction.

Now onto Torrent

Like the title suggests, Torrent is full of violent twists and turns. It completely changes the game. The Forelli men and the Bettarini family will never be the same after the third installment. This is where the truth arises and they must choose to remain or return!

Love triangles are not my favorite in a book. I usually get so frustrated with the protagonist when she begins to doubt her love for another. But, this is the book where I feel in love with Lord Greco. Not to spoil anything, but his character truly confused me. In Twilight, I was NOT a Jacob fan. I was so irritated every time he showed up. But there’s a vulnerability and a sense of honor and strength in Lord Greco that truly compels and endears him to you.

“If I wasn’t so happy he was alive, I would’ve killed him.”

To confuse matters more, I also fell more in love with Marcello and Gabi. UH! It’s so complicated! But truly, their relationship is so beautiful and sweet. I can’t help but smile and giggle. I love to re-read books and to save myself time, I will dog-ear favorite scenes for a quick read through. Torrent, is literally full of saved pages!

Although I would re-read all of them… I got to say, this may be my favorite favorite! For those of you who have read the series… which would you choose?

The Red Review: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
