So Many Books… So Little Time!

by Lisa T. Bergren

Rating: 5 out of 5.

“He moved to kiss my forehead, my eyes, my cheeks, my lips for several long, searching moments.

Right then, I wished we could stay together. Forever.”

Cascade

Welcome back for day two of my favorite series! I absolutely love the second installment of the River of Time Series, but I could really say that about each book. It’s hard for me to have the same appreciation and love for each book in a series, but truly, I would reread each of them and wouldn’t skip anything. Even the Twilight saga which inspired my love of reading, has me skipping most of the second book and parts of others. But, Cascade, even with it’s various twists and turns that pull Gabi and Marcello apart, I wouldn’t skip as it introduces one of my other favorites, Lord Greco (a truly love-dislike relationship). I will write more about him as he becomes a more crucial character in the later installments, but for now, I will just say, that Lisa T. Bergren’s ability to make you love someone so complex is truly a gift.

Cascade simply deepens my love of the Betarrini sisters and now the Lady Betarrini, the mother whose passion for archeology in the past has put their family on the back burner. As mentioned in the previous post, I truly love Gabi’s character. She is a woman worth aspiring to be. Even when threatened with pain and death, she remains true to who she is and those she loves. Furthermore, in the first book, Lia is a minor character, but in Cascade, she becomes more prominent as well as her incredible skill with the bow and arrow and her growing interest in the irresistible captain of the guard. Like in The Office when some of the men decide to do parkour after watching YouTube clips, I too wanted to become a she-wolf! Maybe my next skill to learn will be the bow and arrow.

Keeping in mind that many of you may not have yet read the series, I will not write a synopsis of the book as it would spoil the story for those who have not yet read the first. But if fighting medieval knights, swoon-worthy romance, and traveling among the beautiful landscape of Italy appeals to you, then I beseech you to order it immediately. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

The Red Review: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

***5 Stars: Compelling Characters, Well-Written, Interesting Storyline, Unable to Stop, Desire to Re-read
