So Many Books… So Little Time!

Rating: 5 out of 5.

“I am here for a reason. This is no haphazard mistake. What good can I do with what I have?”

Waterfall

I had the greatest pleasure of re-reading one of my all time favorite series last week. I know that I have already reviewed the series as a whole, but I have not yet reviewed each book individually, and I truly believe that such a work of art deserves such. So, please join me this week as we travel back in time to medieval Italy with the Betarrini Sisters.

Waterfall is the first of five in this young adult, time travel, romance series. When Gabi and Lia are exploring an Etruscan tomb, they are sent back in time to medieval Italy. Upon landing in this time, Gabi and her sister are separated with no way home. Gabi meets Marcello Forelli, the son of a Lord, who takes her back to his castle under their protection. But as danger lurks around every corner, Gabi is forced to not only fight for her own life, but also the people that have become dear to her heart, including the knight who is engaged to another.

There is something about the time travel element that truly draws you in. You find yourself thinking, “what would I do in this situation?” or “if I was sent back in time, would I want to go back to my own?” There is something intriguing about the simple way of life. Every moment is precious and life is fleeting. Although, there are other factors that also have to weigh in. 🤪No bathrooms and hot showers, books are rarity, danger around every corner, the list goes on. But, it still causes you to pause and think.

This book has all the feels. I honestly found myself uncontrollably smiling or giggling often and was asked “why are you smiling so much?” by my family. I really love Gabi’s character. Her strong morals and convictions, her ability to be courageous in the face of danger, her undying love and loyalty to her sister, her kindness and compassion…. the list goes on and on. I found myself really looking up to her character. I would often think, in my own life, what would Gabi do? For those of you with daughters, she is a character worth admiring.

Furthermore, I absolutely loved the growing relationship between Gabi and Marcello. I will write more about them in the coming reviews, but man! He is so swoon worthy! Not just due to his good looks, but also who he is as a man and his undying loyalty and character. He is the kind of man you hope for in your own life.

Full of adventure and romance, this is a book you will not be able to put down!

The Red Review: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
