So Many Books… So Little Time!

by Rachel Hauck

Rating: 3 out of 5.

“We make our plans, but God directs our steps.”

– Once Upon A Prince

AN uncommon woman

I have a terrible habit of reading not the first book in the series, well first, but rather the second or third book before any other. I think it is due to my lack of paying attention on occasion and my desire for good book bargains. Whatever the cause, I actually read the third book in the Royal Wedding Series first. When I discovered my error, I quickly bought the first book, Once Upon a Prince, read it… and loved it!

At the time that I read the book, my life was very similar to Susanna Truitt’s. I was also going through a breakup and related to Susana’s struggle of broken expectations, as well as my life was changing drastically with leaving a job and moving to be closer to family. When I was trying to answer the big question, “what next?”, this book helped me answer it.

Rachel Hauck is a talented writer who creates compelling characters that anyone can relate to. They are real, raw, and flawed, and so are the men in their life. The struggles they endure are often true to our own, with maybe a little fairytale, cute-sy elements to them. They also have mystical christian components to them which make them interesting.

As a bonus, this book has been made into a Hallmark Movie of the same title! The movie itself has been made more “Hallmark-y”, but who doesn’t enjoy a little fun, cliche romance! The book itself is a well… a book and thus has more depth and insights into the minds of Nathaniel and Susanna that a movie could not divulge. I would recommend reading the book first and then watching the movie to compare 😄

If you enjoy a good contemporary novel with a little fairy-tale, then Once Upon a Prince is just the book for you! This really is a cute read 💕

Red Review: ❤️❤️❤️
*** 3 Stars: Compelling Characters, Well-Written, Interesting Storyline

  1. This sounds like a good book. I’m new to her writing, but love the “Hallmark” feel books.
